Complaints / Equifax
Equifax complaints? Tell your story.
Mad at how Equifax handled your credit report? You are not alone. Equifax got 1,680,537 complaints through the CFPB in 2025, the most of any company in the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database. Complaints are not verified, and Equifax holds files on most U.S. adults.
Where to file officially
- Start with Equifax. Dispute wrong info on your report online: https://www.equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services/credit-dispute/
- If that does not fix it, file with the CFPB. The company must respond, usually within 15 days: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
- You can also file with the Better Business Bureau: https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint
- Think it is identity theft? Report it to the FTC at https://www.identitytheft.gov/
